Digging up childhood memories

I realized that as we grow older and face our daily struggles, there is a tendency to wish for that nostalgic space of childhood to show its head before us once again. That space where the smell of innocence was brightly displayed and being worry free was a common way of life. The idea of not having to think about work, school and family for once and have others carter to our needs bring delightful smiles to our faces.

I still remember my childhood days clearly although some say memories could be a bit deceiving. I

Arrgh!!! So embarrassing

Everyone has this moments! Our worst nightmare (well to me).

A few days ago, I had made friends with someone and we got talking. we just spoke about general topics - anything that came to our minds. we bade each other bye once we noticed that the conversation was leading nowhere. I had thought our communication level was good and when next we see we could get together again.

Yeah! that was just my own silly judgement and assumption of matters. A day or two after this, I had spot the same person queuing up trying to get something to eat. I being so excited had crossed over and made that extra effort to say hello.

What do you think? I stood there like an idiot waving at someone, Someone? but it felt like I did that to the wall. My friend had turned pretending

I take back my word!

As I was scanning through the pages of my mind thinking of what to write, this came up. Words! I realize, are like seeds and can only germinate producing effects if they are uttered repeatedly. It has the ability to build up self esteem  and also crumble it with no time wasted. They could be of praise and also of neglect.

I feel a greater weight is placed on my heart as I marvel at the rate people utter words without first assimilating what is going to be said before blabbing out an answer that travels into thin air where it longer can be retrieved. Many of us have been faced with this. At first, it starts out as a normal and easy going conversation with someone  and then we get into the joy of talking and go on and on forgetting everything before us and then suddenly something hits us like lighting jerking us back to reality.

What just happened now? Someone just said what we did not feel like hearing, something cruel, hurtful words about our past failures, belittling and spiteful words.

The diary tale!

I have never related the importance of keeping a well binded book probably coloured, organized  with ruled pages - The diary, to a tale spilling out events of my entire existence. A thing that lays untouched, lonely and helpless captures treasured memories once the pages fly open and people have their arms wrapped around them deliberately rolling a soothing hand over it.

As a child in my earlier years, it became an unconscious habit to emulate actions put forward. I had seen my dad severally in his study very relaxed holding a pen while scribbling something with no end in a dark book with white pages stained with intensified ink and still wearing a lovely expression. I had adored this moment and soon took to putting down a word or two everyday before my head hit the soft pillow on my bed.

Simply put - mere ignorance was perceived with my action. The important role a diary played in my life was unknown. My subconscious mind had thrust me into plotting actions I never realized will be useful. All I knew as a child growing up was that I was mesmerized with the decors that were elaborately tossed outside the boarders of the pages I wrote upon. I didn't think that simple act carried much weight with it.
